On November 19th, 2009, we lost a friend and co-worker. I personally feel deep sadness and a profound sense of loss. Charles Gilliland, known simply as Giggie to people who knew him, was a big man with a bigger heart. He was very adept at shocking you with his humor, but for those who knew him well, knew that he was incredibly talented and his intelligence was equal to any schooled engineer that I have known. He had a kindness that was infectious, never left at night without saying good-bye to everyone in the building. I know he had a great many friends, and to those people I say it was an honor to work with Giggie these last 5 years and we will all miss him a lot.
